Creating a Lead Capture Page is a great idea for anyone selling goods online. Often referred to as a "squeeze page" they present a cheap and effective way to capture important information about people visiting your site.
Whether you hire professionals or do it yourself, there are some things you need to be sure to include. One thing you definitely need is a great headline. A headline that captures the viewer's attention and entices them to continue reading is your goal. Look at these; Make a Million Dollars While You Sleep. Or, Lose Weight While You Sleep. These headlines would at least make me pause long enough to see what else there was on the page.
Then you need show who you are and why people should listen to you. Offer them proof as to why you are an authority in your field. One of the best ways to do this is by adding a video message to your page. Not only does this let people see who you really are, it shows them that you are sincere and will help improve your overall image with your audience.
Then you must give them a 'sneak preview' of what they will get if they buy your product or 'opt-in' to find out more information. The preview should include a little of the information you want to sell them, just not so much that they don't feel like they need to buy it. You may want to include a few questions that they can get the answer to - if they opt-in. For example, "What are the secrets that millionaires don't want you to know?' Or, 'What is the one food that will melt your fat fast?' These types of questions give the viewer information on what they will get without actually giving away any answers.
The most important item of the lead capture page is to include is the call to action. This is when you actually get the viewer's contact information. I'll give you one piece of advice. Don't ask for too much information. In this day and age of identity theft and Internet fraud, very few people are going to be willing to give a total stranger full contact information. So, don't ask for full name, address, email and phone number.
Only ask for a first name and an email address. That is the minimum amount of information you need to be able to contact them in the future. Be sure to have a privacy and terms of use policy that clearly states how you intend to use their personal information.
Its important that you get the right kind of professional help with your lead capture page. You want your visitors to act quickly and unless you are proficient with this kind of marketing you need to get some help at least for the first time around.
